8th Grade Career Fair

This year's  8th Grade Career Fair will be held on October 29th. The purpose of the fair is to introduce the 8th grade students to a wealth of career opportunities available in Grundy County and to help steer students on their future educational and professional paths. Businesses presenting at the fair plan for an interactive experience in which the students can explore the career field, ask questions, and learn directly by participating in a hands-on activity. In the past years, we have over 60 businesses participate as presenters.

Sophomore Tours

Plans are underway for Sophomore Day at the Grundy Area Vocational Center (GAVC)! This day will be an opportunity for sophomores from our four feeder schools to learn first-hand about the programs available at GAVC and the career and technical skills they can develop. This year's event will be held on Thursday, November 21st. Prior to attending, students will choose three demo sessions they can attend.

Programs offered at GAVC are designed as an opportunity for not only those students planning to enter the workforce after graduation, they also provide a distinct advantage to students planning to continue their education in just about any particular career/field.
